• Primary degree: a recognised five-year BDS, DDS or DMD plus a completed clinical internship.
• General Dentist: usually two years of post-internship experience (Oman often expects 4+, Kuwait up to six).
• Specialist: an accredited Master's, residency, board or fellowship such as MDS, FRACDS, MFDS/MJDF or American Board certification.
