The UAE has one of the fastest-growing healthcare sectors in the world, spread across large government systems and major private groups. If you're planning to work here, it helps to know who the big employers are and — just as importantly — what you need in place before you can be hired. Vacancies change constantly, so treat the list below as employers to research and follow rather than a snapshot of open roles.

Major private hospital groups and networks

    • Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi — a leading tertiary/quaternary hospital known for specialist and critical-care roles.
    • Mediclinic Middle East — a large multi-hospital and clinic network across Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Al Ain.
    • NMC Healthcare — one of the largest private operators, with facilities across the emirates.
    • Aster DM Healthcare — hospitals, clinics and pharmacies across the UAE and wider GCC.
    • Zulekha Healthcare — an established group in Dubai and Sharjah.
    • Thumbay Group — academic hospitals linked to medical education in the Northern Emirates.

    Major government and public-sector systems

    • Emirates Health Services (EHS) and MOHAP facilities across the Northern Emirates.
    • SEHA (Abu Dhabi Health Services) — including flagship hospitals such as Tawam and Al Ain Hospital.
    • Dubai Health — including Rashid, Dubai and Latifa hospitals.

Roles in demand across the sector

Demand is consistently strong for registered nurses, specialist physicians, pharmacists, physiotherapists, radiographers and laboratory technologists — especially those with GCC-recognised licences and relevant experience.

Before you apply: get your licensing in order

Almost every employer requires you to be licensable (or already licensed) with the relevant authority. In practice that means:

    1. 1Complete DataFlow Primary Source Verification of your credentials.
    2. 2Pass the relevant authority's Prometric exam (DHA for Dubai, DOH for Abu Dhabi, MOHAP for the Northern Emirates).
    3. 3Hold your active licence — or a clear eligibility letter showing you can obtain it.

Applying without these in place is the most common reason strong candidates get passed over.

    How to strengthen your application

    • Tailor your CV to UAE norms (photo, nationality, licence status and availability are commonly expected).
    • List your licence/eligibility status prominently.
    • Keep your Good Standing certificate current.
    • Apply through official careers portals and reputable recruiters, and be wary of anyone asking for large fees to 'guarantee' a job.

OnClick Healthcare handles the licensing side end to end — DataFlow, exam preparation and authority registration — and supports you through job placement with partner employers once you're licensed. Start with a free eligibility assessment to see where you stand.
